The nuclear microreactor project that is being developed by the company Terminus was one of the four winners of Inova Clima Brasil, a national climate innovation acceleration program, promoted by Cietec – Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology).
The four initiatives, recognized for the high potential of innovation, environmental impact and scale capacity, were presented at COP30, in Belém (PA), in the green zone space. The projects were chosen nationally, among 108 presented in the competition.
“Inova Clima Brasil shows the strength of national innovation in tackling climate change. The selected solutions express Brazil’s potential to lead the sustainable transition with technology and positive impact,” said Paula Lima, Cietec’s CEO.
The competition awarded two projects in the category Sustainable Agriculture and two in the category Decarbonization, among them the microreactor project, which obtained the largest number of points among the four.

The nuclear microreactor of Terminus S.A. – a controlled company of Núcleo Brasil Energia Participações, a holding company created to structure the nuclear sector of the Diamond Group – is an innovative energy solution, developed to provide reliable, clean and continuous electricity in various contexts, such as remote communities, industrial operations and off-shore platforms, among others.

Sustainability

With a compact and modular design, the microreactor can be easily transported and installed quickly, eliminating the need for large infrastructure works.
The CEO of Núcleo Brasil, Ney Zanella dos Santos, and the Director of Projects of Terminus, Horus Ibrahim Orlandi, presented the project at COP 30 and highlighted that the microreactor operates with zero greenhouse gas emissions, directly contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions. Its compact and efficient design demands fewer natural resources and does not generate air pollution, making it an energy solution aligned with global climate goals.
