The Nucleus Brazil Energy participated in the 8th Meeting of the Brazil-Russia High Level of Cooperation Commission (CAN), held on February 5, at Itamaraty, in Brasilia, which discussed the expansion of the cooperation of the two countries in various sectors, including nuclear. The forum was co-chaired by the Vice President of the Republic Geraldo Alckmin and the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
In his presentation, the CEO of NBEPar, Ney Zanella dos Santos, stressed the importance of the partnership between Brazil and Russia in nuclear projects for peaceful purposes, which should contribute to the development of technologies, financing of enterprises and, mainly, market expansion for both.

Zanella gave a brief account of NBEPar’s activities in four strands: development of nuclear microreactor; mining of critical minerals, especially uranium; projects in the nuclear fuel cycle and food irradiation. Regarding mining, he advocated cooperation with Russia to expand the knowledge of Brazilian uranium reserves and adopt advanced technologies for the exploitation and processing of resources.
Document signed by the Brazilian vice president and the Russian Prime Minister confirms the interest of the two countries in expanding the agenda of medicinal radioisotopes to meet health needs, in joint projects for nuclear power generation and the nuclear fuel cycle, as well as in updating the bilateral legal basis of cooperation.
